The Challenge

The Ahmedabad campus faced monthly electricity costs of INR 1 crore and strict penalties for exceeding its 1500 kW contract demand. Ecolibrium was brought in to provide comprehensive energy monitoring. The solution enabled real-time identification of consumption hotspots, contract demand management, and predictive maintenance, helping optimise energy costs and avoid hefty penalties.

The Solution

Ecolibrium’s consultants first conducted a detailed facility survey, then deployed Ecolibrium’s SmartSense as a wireless monitoring system across 20 locations, fully retrofitted with existing sensors and requiring no office shutdown. The system covered the main feeder, floor-wise loads, and key utilities such as pumps, chillers, and AHUs, with all data syncing seamlessly onto Ecolibrium’s SmartSense platform.

We monitored power feeders, pumps, chillers, AHUs, energy meters & monitoring panels. Operational excellence, energy management and CO2e tracking are the solutions implemented to resolve the challenges.

The Outcome

At the Ahmedabad campus, the deployment of Ecolibrium’s SmartSense enabled an 8% reduction in energy costs and helped avoid heavy penalties by revising contract demand from 1500 kW to 1800 kW. Additionally, the initiative achieved a 13% reduction in Scope 1 emissions between 2016 and 2018, underscoring significant progress in both cost savings and sustainability.
